Alive and Well

You probably thought we had died and fallen off the face of the earth...
Well we haven't!
We are doing great.
Tomorrow we leave for Texas to visit Garan's mission.
We're so excited!
I hope to say we will blog more when we get back.
We'll see!
I can promise that I will blog about the trip.
Don't freeze while we're gone.

Consistent

I find comfort when life and things are consistent.
I don't think this is too unusual.

For example:

I like that every Saturday from September to November I don't have to worry about what to wear.
I have one BYU t shirt and one BYU sweatshirt.
The choice I make is... is it warm or cold.
I love that on Saturday's I don't have to think twice about what to grab and put on.
I also love that every Friday since September Garan and I have known what we were going to do.
We were going to a Davis football game to watch the team and especially my little brother play!
It's been awesome.
I seriously don't know what I'll do next year on Friday nights.

Garan has only missed 2 games all year. (There have been about 8 or 9).
He missed one game for work and one game for swine flu.
The two games Garan missed the Darts lost.
The 8 or 9 he has been to we have won.
Yes we are probably silly and wrong in thinking that Garan makes the difference, but missing is not a choice anymore.

Especially when you are in the semi finals.
CJ and the Darts play at Rice Eccles Stadium at 6:30 on Friday.
We'll be there and we are very excited!

Garan and I remember when Davis football took state when we were seniors.
It has been fun to bring back some memories and to watch my brother be so happy!

Good Luck Davis!
Go Darts!!!

(Every game I bring my camera and every game I leave it in the car. Is it bad to pray that I can start remembering my camera more... especially before this baby is born?)

Oink, Oink

I stood in line today from 6:45-11:15.
4 1/2 hours.
All to get the swine flu vaccine.
I don't think I would have gotten the vaccine if I wasn't pregnant.
But being a pregnant teacher I thought it was a good idea.
Hopefully, it was worth it!

It's A...

And of course there is a story to go along with it.
I feel like I have been very patient in waiting to find out if we were having a boy or girl.
My students today made bar graphs to show their votes.
18 students voted BOY!
6 students vote GIRL!
I love my job for many reasons, but one is because I stay very, very busy.
I don't have time to think about life; whether it's good or bad.
I started to get excited and anxious as my students' walked out the door.
I knew our appointment was soon and I was ready.
BUT, I had a seriously strong feeling that we wouldn't find out what we were having.
And, while my doctor tried so hard to find out the sex she couldn't get this baby to move.
So she told me I could come back in a week.
I don't know if I jinxed myself by thinking we wouldn't find out.
Maybe it was because Garan was stubborn too and didn't show his momma what he was.
Or it could be because I was always sit Indian style, just like the baby was.
I stayed upbeat, made my appointment for the next week and we got in the car.
Garan decided we should sulk over dinner.
And then I started to tear up.
I just wanted to know.
So we called Fetal Fotos.
It was 4:45.
They had an appointment at 5:30.
We were in Layton.
Fetal Fotos is in Murray.
Garan drove fast.
And we didn't tell anyone we were going.
The sweet lady at Fetal Foto's spent 15 minutes showing us the profile, body, everything.
Then, she went for the gender.
And our sweet, stubborn baby decided it still didn't want mom and dad or anyone for that matter to know what it was.
So the lady left and had me lay on my side.
She said this would probably help.
And it did.
As soon as she came back she KNEW it was a girl. Not a doubt. 100%. All girl!
We are so excited!
Garan won the bet so he gets to choose the crib.
Samantha Ann... if it's possible we are even more excited now.
(Especially since we've been secretly calling you Sam for months now)! :)

Tomorrow's the Day

So... tomorrow's the big day!
We find out if we are having a little Garan or a little Jessie.
Garan thinks it's a girl.
I think it's a boy.
Our appointment is tomorrow at 4:15; so that I wouldn't have to miss school.
Place your guesses ASAP, because hopefully tomorrow we'll have exciting news!

Let's Clear Something Up

This is Garan,

I wish that Jessie was craving Sour Patch Kids.

She isn't.

She is craving Sour Patch WATERMELON

You'd think that they are the same thing, trust me, they're not.

Not to a pregnant wife at least.

Why do I wish it was Sour Patch Kids?

Because they are 10 times easier to find, and I don't know how many times less expensive.

So, thought I would clear up some confusion on the post before this one.

Sweet, k, I'll probably never blog again

My First Pregnancy Craving

What is it you wonder?

Kinda ironic, since sweets did not settle well at the beginning of my pregnancy.

I love these things. LOVE them! Crave them! Buy them without even thinking about it.

You can't find them just anywhere.

We started watching 24 while Garan's been sick.

I've seen every season, every episode.

I watched them while Garan was on his mission.

I'm obsessed with 24.

For example:

I've owned a 24 calendar.

If we have a boy I would love to name him Jack, Tony, Chase, etc.

It's been so much fun to watch them with him.

It's nice to watch them the 2nd time, because I can grade papers, fold clothes, clean the kitchen, etc. and just listen since I've already seen them.

I own all the seasons, but couldn't find season 1.

So I started renting it at Blockbuster.

Blockbuster has Sour Patch Watermelons.

I don't mind going to Blockbuster to rent the next disc.

I'm in heaven!
